Summary Health and Safety Policy
1. General Policy
Our statement of general policy is: -
1.1 To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities
1.2 To consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety
1.3 To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
1.4 To ensure safe handling and use of substances
1.5 To provide information, instruction and supervision for employees
and also to ensure all employees:-
1.6 Are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training
1.7 Prevent accidents and cases of work related ill health
1.8 To maintain safe and healthy working conditions
1.9 To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals
Overall and final responsibility for health and safety is upheld within A & F Consulting Engineers. This includes updating and implementing this Health & Safety policy.
3. Health and Safety Risks arising from our Work Activities
Risks assessments are regularly undertaken, with actions executed to appropriate employees. Additional risk assessments are completed as and when needs arise.
Assessments are regularly reviewed or when the work activity changes.
4. Consultation with Employees
Consultation of Health & Safety policy with employees is provided in house.
5. Safe Handling and Use of Substances and Equipment
All substances that need a COSHH assessment are identified as such. Regular equipment and material training and checking is provided by A & F Consulting Engineers.
Suspected asbestos and/or other contaminated materials have restricted access.
6. Information, Instruction and Supervision
The Health and Safety Law Poster is displayed at all Offices. Insurance documents and other Health and Safety information are presented at our head office.

7. Competency for Tasks and Training
All employees have been provided with basic training. Job specific training and advice on safety equipment and advice on safe working procedures is also provided.
8. Accidents, First Aid and Work-related Ill Health
First-Aid boxes are provided as appropriate. Accidents are recorded in the accident book. Health surveillance is required of employees.
Monitoring procedures are available upon request.
10. Emergency Procedures Fire and Evacuation for Offices
Emergency procedures are available upon request.
We have Employers Liability Insurance, which is renewed annually.
Insurance cover is for all types of project.
